WHAT IS CHRISTIAN SCIENCE?

GOD IS POWERFUL

What if I were to tell you that there’s a power of good working on your behalf—a power that’s always present? Not sometimes, but always. It isn’t something we have to hope for, long for, or assume is out of our reach. These spiritual laws—this continuity of good, is Christian Science.

SPIRITUAL LAWS OF GOD

These laws of good are Truth itself, which is a synonym for God Mary Baker Eddy found in the Bible. In our human experience, we already know that truth is the actual fact of something. It’s about honesty—the absence of lies. But divine Science enlarges these concepts of “truth,” establishing the “Truth” that is our essence, our very identity.

 

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures states: “Truth is God’s remedy for error of every kind, and Truth destroys only what is untrue.” Before she discovered Christian Science, Eddy spent years on a determined search to uncover exactly how Christ Jesus healed. It’s no wonder her inspiration came right out of his teachings and practice. Jesus acknowledged, “All things (spiritual qualities) that the Father hath are mine.” This is the identity we are right now—the spiritual completeness that Jesus saw in every individual.​

YOU ARE SPIRITUALLY WHOLE — BEAUTIFUL, COMPLETE

Eddy made it her life’s mission to build on this practical, God-derived viewpoint. Not a lowly, flawed concept of ourselves and others—where we try to patch up things that we think are broken—but the view from the mountaintop, where we are, as she says, “God’s reflection, needing no cultivation, but ever beautiful and complete.”

GOD MADE YOU FREE

When we realize God, Truth, upholding every aspect of our being, we become liberated. Jesus said, “Fear not little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” 

 

This “kingdom,” this divine harmony, is your birthright. It's your God-given privilege to experience that freedom and harmony today and everyday.
